Chapter 40
1 Week Later
Brian's View
Today is the day I'm going to do the big apology.
I know Tiffany's going to like it. I've been working all week trying to set
all this up and it's cost me so much money but I don't care. It's all for
my baby.
"Nick are you going to go pick up Tiffany now?" I
asked.
"Yeah I'm going to get her now. I'll meet you down
at the venue," Nick said.
"OK," I said. "Hey Nick?"
"Yeah," he said turning around to face me.
"Thanks man," I said. He slightly smiled at me and
said, "No problem."
I watched as he left and turned to the other guys,
"Ready?"
"Yeah," they all said.
"Do you think she'll like it?"
"Yeah she'll love it Rok," AJ said. For some reason
all the guys are talking to me. They don't seem to be pissed at me anymore
which is very good. I guess they see how much I regret what I did and how
much I want Tiffany back.
"OK, I hope she does," I said nervously. I was beginning
to get very nervous. This is my last chance at getting Tiffany back and if
she doesn't forgive me then I know I lost her...forever.
"Don't worry Bri, she'll forgive you. What you're
doing is really sweet. I would have never thought of it," AJ said patting
me on the shoulder.
"Well, if you say it's good then it must be," I
sighed.
"Believe us! It is!" Howie said.
"She better like it, it cost you a lot of money,"
Kevin said slightly laughing.
"Yeah but she's worth every penny," I said.
"We know Bri," AJ said.
"Well, let's go. We need to get there early to make
sure everything's in place," I said. All the guys nodded their heads and
followed me out to the car. I hope everything turns out like I hope.
Tiffany's View
"Hello is anybody home?" I asked walking around the house. I couldn't find
anybody! No one! Not even Michelle or Christian. I was beginning to worry.
I just got done getting ready for the day and I went to get Christian ready
but he wasn't there when I got there. I'm guessing the girls just took them
out or something.
I walked into the kitchen and went to the refrigerator to see if they left
a note or something. Sure enough there was a note. It said that they just
went to get some ice cream and maybe go to the park. I'm happy I get sometime
to myself now. These past 3 weeks have been hard on me.
Nick's View
I walked up to the door and rang the doorbell. A few
seconds later Tiffany answered. She was wearing a green sun dress with flowers
all over it, white tennis shoes, and her hair was half up and curled. She
looked really pretty. She's going to blow Brian away.
"Hi," she smiled.
"Hi, I was wondering if you would like to go somewhere
with me. It's a surprise," I said.
"A surprise? For what?"
"Nothing, I just figured it would cheer you up," I
smiled.
"I don't know Nick. I don't really feel like going
anywhere," she said.
"Pleeease, for me," I said sticking out my bottom
lip.
"OK, I'll come," she said.
"Thanks, you'll like it," I said. She just walked
out of the door and closed it behind her. When we got in the car she asked,
"Where are we going?"
"I can't tell you," I smiled.
"Oh c'mon, I'm going to know in like what 10 minutes?
Might as well tell me now," she said. I just shook my head and put the car
in gear.
Brian's View
"OK, everything's here, right?" I asked Kevin.
"Yeah everything's here. Just calm down, she should
be here any minute," Kevin said.
"OK," I sighed.
"Ready people?" Howie asked.
"Yeah!" we all yelled.
"OK, AJ turn off the lights!" Howie yelled up to the
control panel. AJ waved and then turned out all of the lights in the venue.
It was total darkness.
"OK let's get ready people," AJ said walking down
the rows of seats. He had a flashlight and he was shinning it in our
eyes.
"Turn the damn thing off!" Kevin yelled annoyed.
"I can't! If I turn it off I won't be able to see
and then I could fall and break my neck!" AJ said jumping onto the stage.
I just rolled my eyes.
"Let's just get back stage," I said. Howie nodded
and went backstage and Kevin glared at AJ and snatched the flashlight
away.
"What did I do?" he asked following Kevin.
Tiffany's View
"Nick," I whined. "Are we there yet?"
"Only a couple of more minutes. Just hold on," he said. I sighed and just
sat there looking at the passing trees. Finally Nick pulled up to the venue
and parked his car. I looked out the window confused.
"Why are we here?" I asked.
"Just c'mon," he said. He got out of the car and waited as I got out slowly.
I walked up to him and he grabbed my hand.
"Is this going to take long?"
"Um...I don't think so," he said walking up to the doors. He opened one of
the huge doors and pulled me in. When the doors closed I couldn't see anything.
Nothing at all, it was pitch black.
"Nick why is it so dark in here?" I asked.
"Don't worry," he said. He walked around pulling me with him and finally
he stopped. I'm guessing we reached the place I was supposed to stay. I still
couldn't see anything. It was so dark.
"Just stay here, I'll be back in a minute," he said squeezing my hand and
then letting go. I heard him walk off. I just stood there trying to make
out what was in front of me. I squinted my eyes and finally realized that
I was surrounded by seats. I walked down the isle a little bit and looked
around. I thought I saw something flash to my right so I bent down to take
a closer but all of a sudden a blue light turned on in the middle of the
stage. I stood up straight looking around to see what was going on. Four
other lights were turned on just then and the music to 'Everytime I Close
My Eyes' started to play. Each of the boys walked up to one of the lights
and started to sing.
They each smiled at me as Brian looked at me intently. I was just standing
there confused at the what they were doing. Brian was singing with so much
emotion. He has such a beautiful voice. I walked up the isle a little more
never taking my eyes off of them. The music then died down and I was about
to ask something but music to 'If I Don't Have You' started to play. What
were they doing? I've heard these songs millions of times before. Brian looked
at me sadly as he sang. If he's trying to make me feel sorry for him it's
not working. OK, well he is making me a little emotional here. This is sweet
of him, of all of them, to sing to me like this. When the music started to
fade each one of the boys walked closer to the stage and waited until the
last song started to play. The middle of the stage was rising up and the
whole band was on there playing the beginning notes to 'Back to Your Heart.'
AJ then started to sing softly.
It's not that I can't live without you
Nick then began to sing softly.
Then all the guys sung together in complete harmony.
Brian then stepped up and looked directly at me singing with all his heart,
meaning every word he said.
Nick then began to sing again slightly smiling at me.
Once again all the guys joined together to sing the chorus.
Brian then began to sing followed by AJ.
They all began to sing again but much softer now.
By this time tears were streaming down my face. Brian walked over to the
steps that that led him off the stage as he sang the chorus and when the
last verse began all the lights in the whole venue turned on all together.
I looked around with my mouth wide in shock. In every seat in the venue flowers,
stuffed animals, or candy, were found, banners were everywhere saying how
much Brian loved me. Tears were streaming down my face, not sad tears but
happy tears. I looked back at Brian walk slowly up the isle towards me as
he sang.
They all sang the chorus one more time as Brian came closer to me. He put
his hand behind his back and then pulled his hand back around to show a single
red rose.
"I'm so sorry Tiffany. I love you so much and I don't want to lose you,"
Brian said quietly. I took the rose and looked at it. Tears were still coming
out of my eyes. I pressed my lips together and looked up and Brian. He was
looking at me hopefully. I breathed in and flew my arms around his neck hugging
him tight. He hugged back picking me up off the ground and spinning me around.
He set me down and put my face in his hands and kissed me passionately. I
kissed back hungrily wanting more and more but we stopped as we heard all
the guys cheering on the stage. We pulled apart and looked up. Everyone was
on stage smiling and laughing in happiness. Darlene, Mary, Stacey. Colleen,
Michelle and even Christian were up there. They were all in on this.
"I love you Tiffany," Brian said in my ear. I looked at him and smiled. "I
love you too."
He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tight. I hugged him back never
wanting him to let go. I'm finally back in his arms and I have a feeling
that I'm going to be in them for the rest of my life.
