Chapter 69

Brian's View

"Baby are you ready?" I called from at the bottom of the stairs. Tiffany and I were gonna go catch a movie and go to the beach. I thought she would like to get out of the house and have some fun. Not TOO much fun because I don't want anything bad to happen to her.

"Honey?" I called. I listened and heard nothing and then all of a sudden there was a big thud.

"Sweetie!" I yelled running up the stairs and into out room. I looked and saw Tiffany hunched over grabbing her stomach in pain. Her purse was the thud that I heard.

"Oh my God! Tiffany what's wrong?" I asked worried rushing over to her. She put her hand on my shoulder to keep her balanced as I wrapped my arm around her waist.

"The…babies…they're coming!" she managed to get out. I could tell she was in a lot of pain. I could already see sweat forming on her forehead.

"Oh my G…we need to get you to the hospital. Just stay calm OK?"

"I am calm!" she yelled.

"Shh…I know it hurts but we've been through this before," I said leading her out into the hall and then down the stairs. Michelle and Christian came running out of the living room laughing. They then stopped when they saw us.

"Are you alright Mom?" Michelle asked concerned.

"She's in labor...get Courtney and Jason and get out to the car quick. Lock up the house when you come out," I said rushing to get the door. I then grabbed Tiffany's hand and led her outside. I opened up the car door and helped her in. The entire time she was groaning in pain. I jumped into the driver's seat and said, "Breath baby. Breath."

"I am breathing!" she said frustrated.

Michelle and the other kids then ran out of the house and to the car. They jumped in and I drove to the gates and then drove through them. I turned onto the highway and drove as fast as I could. Tiffany was holding her stomach in so much pain. I took her hand and squeezed it.

"What's wrong with mommy?" Courtney asked hugging her teddy bear to herself.

"She's having a baby," Michelle said.

"She's having the babies?" Courtney asked excited.

"Yes...duh! That's what going into labor is stupid!" Jason said.

"Be quiet! I don't need this right now!" Tiffany said. Everyone then turned quiet and I just squeezed her hand affectionately.

"We're almost there," I said. She just nodded her head and rested her hand on her stomach.

I pulled up to the hospital and jumped out. I ran over to Tiffany's side and swung open the door. I helped her out and helped her inside. Michelle was in charge of going to the emergency room with the kids. She knows the drill by now. I mean this is a regular routine to her probably. She's been though this many times.

"Excuse me..." I said to the lady at the front desk. She was on the phone laughing and she just put one finger up for me to wait. I looked at her annoyed as she giggled and chewed on her gum. Tiffany was breathing heavily.

"Excuse me..." I said again. She just looked up at me and then started talking again. I grabbed the phone from her and slammed it down. "Now listen to me! My wife is in labor and two babies are about to pop right out of her and I want her to be laying down when that does happen!"

She looked at me in shock and then looked over at Tiffany, "Um...I'll be right back. We'll get her back as soon as possible."

"Thank you," I sighed. Finally Tiffany was wheeled back into a room and set on a bed. I sat next to her and grabbed her hand, "How's my baby doing?"

"Tired," Tiffany said closing her eyes. I kissed her forehead and stroked her hand.

"Are you in any pain?"

"Not right now," she said quietly. "I will be in a second though."

"Just squeeze my hand all you want," I said.

"Believe me I will. I'm surprised your hand isn't broken yet. It has sure been through a lot," she smiled slightly.

I laughed lightly and said, "I know."

We talked a little more and luckily she wasn't in too much pain. I knew the babies wouldn't come for another hour or so. You never really know when the babies will come. I just hope that they are alright. I don't want them to get hurt or die on me. I'm praying every second that they'll come out healthy and hopefully my prayers will work.
