Chapter Ten
Outside, to the girls' surprise, were 4 carriages, horse and all. "Oh! What is this?!" exclaimed Michely.
"This is one of our many surprises, especially for you." AJ smiled at her that beautiful smile and he had a twinkle in his eye.
"We each have our own little thing for you. We each have our own plans, which we'll explain on the way." Brian explained. "Let's head out!"
All couples got into their own carriage and headed off in their own direction. Kevin's carriage followed AJ's. Brian went in the same direction as Howie's.
In the carriages, the guys each took out a picnic basket. They had each ordered food from the carriage service, food that they thought would seem fit for each couple. In Brian's carriage, Melissa was smiling a smile from ear to ear. She couldn't believe this was happening. This had to be the happiest night of her life.
"Hope you like good, old-fashioned Kentucky style potato salad!" he smiled at her.
"Hmm, homemade?" she asked.
"Oh yeah, the very best!" he grinned at her.
Meanwhile, Kevin was having a good old conversation with the driver, and Christina was laughing her ass off just listening to the things that Kevin asked the driver. They had started an interesting game of "Truth or Dare", and she had dared him to ask the driver the most stupidest questions.
Kevin slowly started, "Hey, wassup man? Tell me, do you like horses?" Christina tried to stifle her laughter as she saw the poor man's reaction to the question.
"Yeah you see, I think they are intricate animals!" he went on.
The man just looked at him like he was crazy as he went on, "And what do you think of those field dogs?! Who thought they could run so fast and keep even the pigs in the stable?!"
Christina was laughing into Kevin's shoulder, as he slowly said, "Well if you're not going to answer, talk to ya later."
As soon as the driver assumed his position, Kevin just started to laugh crazily, and Christina was about to explode. 'Nothing can be better than this!' she thought, as tears from laughing welled up in her eyes.
AJ's carriage was all romantic, but yet talkative. They talked about themselves, and even about their relationship, and were being totally open about what they thought.
"To me, I would have to say the most important thing in a relationship is honesty and trust. It's important to feel that the person you're with tells you everything, even the littlest things about them, because a little deal can turn into a big deal one day." Michely said.
"Um, yeah well...uh, yeah, true, I think the, uh, same way." he said smiling at her. Though the doubt that crossed his mind, and the guilt he felt was great that he struggled to hide it. The fact the girls still didn't know they were the Backstreet Boys was killing him, because he didn't like keeping huge things like that from his partner. He sucked at keeping secrets, even though his profession, he thought, shouldn't be a secret. He looked at her afterwards and quickly changed the subject.
"Hey, did you see Saturday Night Live on Saturday? They had the funniest sketch...." he said. She listened contently, but wondered why he would close up so quickly, when minutes before they were both open to anything.
Nadia had her head against Howie's shoulder, as she listened as he went on and on about his condominiums. She loved to hear him talk, his voice was so sweet sounding. But she had long ago stopped paying attention. Now she just sat back and stared at the most beautiful, big, brown, puppy dog eyes she had ever seen. They were just beautiful. He played with her hair, and soon she got him to talk about his favorite places in Orlando, and tried to pry out where they were going.
"Well, I like to go clubbing a lot, and I mostly go with Kevin and AJ. You could say that it's one of my hobbies. I get sort of mad when I find out there's a good club somewhere when I'm traveling and..." his voice trailed off when he realized what he had said.
Nadia hardly noticed but asked, "Oh you travel? What places have you gone to?"
"Oh well um, nowhere, really. I just uh, visited some places here in the
states, and found out about some really good clubs that were there, and I,
uh, just didn't get the chance to visit them." he finished off, hoping silently
that she wouldn't ask any more questions.
