Chapter Eleven
Brian smiled at the sight of Meli's happiness from the whole treat. He couldn't help but think that this was the girl he definitely wanted in his life. It seemed all the guys were thinking about the same thing, not having told the girls they were the Backstreet Boys. It was hard to start a conversation, because almost everything related to his life and occupation. They finally arrived at the park, and it was a beautiful night. The moon was high above them and shone through the trees. He helped Melissa off the carriage.
"Do you like it so far?" he smiled and held her hand.
"Yes..." she looked at his eyes gleam in the moonlight.
"Where do we set up for the picnic?" she asked him.
"I have a favorite spot near the lake...follow me. There we can watch the fireworks....and make some of our own." he said as he led her up a hill. They reached this cute spot covered with a large, bushy tree, right beside a river. "I come here often," he said to her. "I come here to relax and chill. It's quite peaceful here especially at night when the moon is full and the stars are too, like tonight."
"It's..it's lovely.." she murmured. She couldn't believe she was here with such a gorgeous guy. "I love you," she whispered.
"What..you, you do?" he looked at her and grinned that star-smile. She nodded at him, and leaned down to kiss him. He pulled her down excitedly and kissed her softly. "I love you, too." he said between kisses. "This is the best night ever."
Kevin looked at Christina's expression of surprise when they pulled up to the beach. "We're going to have a nice quiet picnic at the edge of the pier, and we'll wait for the firework show."
She stared into his emerald green eyes. Kevin took her hand as he pulled her through the clear, white sand to the pier standing in front of them. They walked over the hard wood and stood over the edge of the pier, only a railing separating them from the water.
"This is incredible. I'm having the time of my life tonight, just spending it with you." she whispered into the night. He held her in his arms, hearing each other breath. They could hear the soft sound of the waves crashing against the beams underneath the pier.
Christy turned around to him, and slowly gained enough courage to say the 3 little words she had so longed to say. "I love you." she said.
"Huh, what?" he mumbled. He seemed to be thrown aback by her comment, but soon a smile spread across his face. "Oh, I love you, too." But then, he thought once more of the secret he was hiding inside of him, and holding with the other guys. 'When can we tell them..I can't wait much longer...' he thought, as he kissed her softly, and separated from her to start setting up the picnic.
As AJ's carriage pulled up behind Kevin's, he turned briefly to see them walking off across the sand. 'Well, they're in a hurry, now aren't they?' he chuckled to himself. He then went out by one side and came around to the other, to help Michely out of her side.
He kissed her hand and said, "My lady." he grinned at her that delectable smile that could melt a glacier.
"Hmm, my gentleman." she giggled shyly. He got the picnic basket, whispered something to the driver, and soon they were off, walking across the pure, white sand with their shoes in hand.
"Where are we going to set the blanket and food up?" asked Michely, wondering why they were walking so long.
"Oh, I have my own little place I go to when I want to...just get away from it all, and I would like to share it with you." he replied.
"Oh well, then I can't wait!" she said. She really couldn't believe she was here with a gorgeous guy like AJ, who made her laugh and smile at all the cute little things he would say and do. She could tell he loved her too, and this was the Heaven she was seeking. They arrived a while later at this cute little straw tavern, and it had a pile of wood set up inside it.
"This is where I come a lot. I have my own little campfire and everything set up because I don't think anyone knows about it." She helped start the fire and set the picnic up, and then they sat down overlooking the water as the moon reflected off the water and made a perfect circle. 'This is the best night of my life,' thought AJ. He had so much love for her, it was difficult to describe in so little words.
Howie looked at his watch and mumbled something to himself. Nadia looked up from her place on Howie's shoulder.
"What is it?" she brushed her hand gently on his cheek. Howie got off the carriage and told the driver something.
"Hope you like it... it's my favorite spot." Nadia nodded and held on to Howie's arm and got off. He took out the picnic basket and walked her to the top of a hill.
"What is this place called?" she asked looking up at the dark night sprinkled with stars.
"Um... I think it's called 'Falling Star Peak', but I really like it here. Close your eyes... I have a surprise for you." He walked her to the edge of the cliff and put down the basket.
"You can open your eyes now." She stood breathless of the beautiful view before her. Howie held her waist and waited for her reaction. She could see all of Orlando, illuminated with colorful lights. It was really a sight to see.
"Howie... it's beautiful!" she remarked and turned to hug him. All he could do was smile at her and ask her a simple question.
"Nadia, I love you. I've realized that over the past month. The thing is, well, do you love me, too?" he asked her, never separating his glance at her. She stared at his sad, puppy eyes, shocked that he could ask her such a stupid question.
"Howie, well, I..." she stuttered for the words. "Of course I love you! You have to be one of the nicest guys I have ever met! You always know what to say when to say it, and you never let me down. You are so loyal and honest, and that is the greatest basis for a relationship." she remarked, smiling the whole time.
He just said nothing, just looked at her and thought, 'She is beautiful!
Not just on the outside, but on the inside as well. I love her so much.'
After that, he just took her in his arms and kissed her passionately.
'Oh...my...god...." she thought between kisses.
