Chapter Twelve
AJ stared at Michely looking at the fire. He scooted towards and wrapped his arms around her. She was in between his legs (the good way) and she breathed in deep. He shifted his body to make them look towards the ocean. The fireworks were breathtaking and lighted the sky with colors.
AJ smiled and played with Michely's hair. "Aah, that tickles!" she giggled as his fingers brushed against her neck.
"I know... that's why I'm doing it." he looked down at her and kissed her forehead. They listened silently as he cradled her in his strong arms to the soft sounds of the waves crashing against the shore.
Kevin and Christina were standing near the railing. Kevin was holding her tight and whispered, "I love you." over and over again. She stared at the waves and then back at him. They walked to the blanket and sat near each other. Kevin stared at Christina's brown eyes and kissed her nose. Christy felt shivers up her spine and whispered to him, "I wish this night would never end..."
Brian and Melissa were lying next to each other in the grass looking up at the final of the fireworks. "What time is it?" Meli asked sitting up, staring down at Brian. He looked up at her and pulled her down with his strong arms.
"Midnight," he said with his little hick accent. She smiled and kissed him all over his face. His blue eyes looked so warm and friendly and it made her feel like a puddle of water. He loved her and wished he could tell her the truth but that would end the date horribly. He wanted to stay with her like this forever.
Howie and Nadia were lying on top of the hood of Howie's car, staring at the view of Orlando. They were holding hands and kept on turning around to look at each other.
"Howie... would you ever leave me? I mean... like leave me alone in my hour of need?" Howie looked at her and sighed.
"Baby, you know me, I would never do that to you. I'll never break your heart..." he choked on the last words. Nadia stared at him with a bewildered face. She shook it off and shifted closer to him. She started kissing around his lips and smiled when he held her closer, that not even an ounce of air could fit between them. They stared into the night and prayed to stay like this forever.
The guys took the girls to their carriages and rode home, each holding each
other. The girls slept over at AJ, Kevin, and Brian's house with their respective
boyfriend. The guys hardly slept that night, thinking of what might lie ahead
of them.
