Chapter 15
The Next Day
Danielle's View
"Woah, he asked you out on a date?" I asked Colleen shocked. She just stopped by mine and Jason's room to tell me some good news but I didn't think it would be this good.
"Well, not exactly, he just offered to take me out," she smiled at me.
"That's great! You're gonna go on a date with Nick Carter!" I squealed.
"No biggie, you know she'd wanna go out with me," Jason smirked coming out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist. I picked up a pillow and threw it at him. He caught it and set it down on the bed right next to me and smiled at me, "I love you too sweetie."
"Hey! Back to me!" Colleen whined. "I don't want you guys getting mushy on me and you, go get some clothes on in the bathroom. I don't want to see your naked rear end."
"You know you like my butt," he teased and got up. She rolled her eyes at him as he disappeared into the bathroom.
"So anyway," Colleen said turning back to me.
"Oh my gosh! Guys! You would never guess what happened last night!" Darlene screamed running into the room. Colleen put her hands up in the air and fell back onto the bed sighing in frustration.
"What happened?" I asked her curious.
"Oh it was so cool!" she exclaimed rushing over to us and rolling Colleen over and sitting next to me.
"Hey! How rude," Colleen said pushing Darlene.
"Oh be quiet and listen," she said.
"Fine," Colleen mumbled.
"OK, so last night I was with Chris you know? And we were just watching TV and everything and we ended up...kissing," she smiled widely.
"Kissing? You and Chris kissing?" I asked in shock.
"Yes! Can you believe it!?" she smiled. She looked like she was spacing out.
"Are you two going out now or what?" Colleen asked her. Darlene looked over at her and opened her mouth to say something but then closed it again.
"I don't know to be honest," she finally said.
"Nothing wrong with that, I'm sure you two will be together sometime soon," I smiled at her.
"I hope so! He's so freaking cute!" Darlene grinned.
"Yeah OK, enough about you! Back to me!" Colleen said
"What is so special about you?" Darlene joked.
"Shut up! Nick asked me out..." Colleen said.
"He did!?" Darlene exclaimed wide eyed.
"Not like girlfriend and boyfriend asking out, he offered to take me out," Colleen smiled.
"Seriously!? Oh my gosh, that's so not fair! Why did he offer you and not me?" she asked with a hurt expression.
"Because I'm home sick and maybe he likes me," Colleen shrugged.
"That's not fair," Darlene grumbled.
"Well, life isn't fair, Deal with it. What do you care anyway? I mean you have Chris. Now I have Nick and you don't," Colleen smiled widely and then got up and left the room. I looked after her with my mouth open in shock. How could she be that insensitive?
"I can't believe her," I said under my breath.
"I can't either! Did you see that smug look on her face! She's totally bragging about this!" Darlene exclaimed.
"That wasn't right if you ask me," I said.
"No it wasn't! Gosh, she knows how much I like Nick, why would she just rub it in like that?"
"I don't know but that was just plain rude," I said.
"What was rude?" Jason asked coming out of the bathroom and sitting next to me on the bed. He wrapped his arms around my waist, kissed my cheek and then rested his head on my shoulder.
"Colleen just rubbed it in my face that Nick asked her to dinner and then she got up and left," Darlene mumbled.
"Oh she did?" Jason asked looking up at her. "I'm sorry."
"Yeah, I'm going to go sulk now, I'll see you two later," she said and got up and left.
"Poor Darlene," I said sadly. She really does like Nick, she has for a long time.
"Cheer up, she'll be OK," Jason said getting up and jumping on the bed. I turned my head to look at him and said, "How can you be so calm about that? Darlene is your friend too you know."
"Well, I guess it doesn't really bother me that Colleen rubbed it in because for one I'm not a girl so I wouldn't really understand what is going on and two right now I only need to worry about you," he said looking at me. I turned my head away from him and looked down at my hands.
"I just don't want a big fight to happen," I said quietly. He rolled over and wrapped his arms around my waist again. He kissed my neck and said, "Things will be OK. Especially if you're with sexy me."
I smiled and looked at him, "Sexy you?"
"Yes sexy me! You know I'm sexy! Look at my muscles girl!" he said flexing. He did have a pretty nice body.
I giggled and said, "OK, you are sexy."
"Thank you!" he smiled and then dragged me up all the way on the bed.
"What are you doing?" I laughed.
"Getting ready to cuddle with you," he said wrapping his arms around me and pulling me close to him. I smiled and snuggled up to him.
"I love you sweetie," he said softly.
"I love you too," I grinned and then closed my eyes.
Brian's View
I was whistling and tossing my hat up into the air and then catching it again. I was walking down to my room. I just got back from walking around town. Surprisingly I wasn't attacked!
I walked by an open door, glanced in it and kept walking but then stopped abruptly. My whistling died down and I backed up a little. I peered into the room and my heart sank. Danielle and Jason were cuddled up close next to each other on the bed. They were both sleeping. Jason had his arms wrapped around her and she was pulled close to him.
I sighed and dropped my hat to my side. I wish that were me. I wish that I was the one holding her, kissing her, hugging her, holding her close, and...loving her. Loving her. That was possible without being with her I know. It is possible because I think that I actually am loving her. I am beginning to love Danielle. Can you believe that? I couldn't. I never thought it would happen but then again why not? She's such a great and beautiful girl. Any guy could fall for her. Any guy, and one of those guys had to be me.
